Hair Do. What to do? (post 2)

Bummer about my bridal shower dresses. I tried all four on tonight and only one fits correctly. The others three are too big ... bummer! Oh what's a girl to do? Guess I'll go back to online shopping!!

ps, the one that does fit will be perfect for my bridal shower / bachelorette next Saturday!

Hair Do. What to do?

The wedding is only 50 days away!
I've been getting really excited for the wedding. I think it's because the bachelorette party and bridal showers are coming up soon ... it's reminding me the day's almost here.

Yesterday, I went to get my hair cut and talked with my sytlist about various hair do's for the wedding day. Since I'm not having a veil with my wedding dress ... and I have short hair ... there's only so many options for my hair. This is the only thing that's stressing me out a bit - I really want it to be something that's comfortable and cute and something that looks prettier than everyday ... and it has to be a style that lasts all day long! (the wedding is at 6pm and outside)!
Here's what I'm thinking:

A sparkly diamond headband
A sparkly diamond hair clip

Or a sparkly diamond clip farther back behind the ear.
(My hair style is more like Rhianna's below ... so imagine a flower or a diamond clip behind her right ear as if it's holding the hair back behind her ear).

By the way, I'm hoping Andi gets me some bling diamond earings like Rhianna's ... cuz that would REALLY pull the look together!

Anyway, I'm leaning toward the last one, but I can't seem to find a picture of what my hairstyle would look like.

So, this weekend, I'm going to visit some shops like Claires, Charlette Russe, and Forever 21 to see if there's a few different hair pieces I can find that are cheap. I'll let you know what I find ...

OK, on to other things...
More wedding details finalized today. I booked a restaurant for our dinner following the ceremony. It's at NorthCoast Restaurant in downtown Wayzata, MN. Right on Lake Minnetonka and not far from Noerenberg Gardens (where we're having the ceremony).

Click here to visit North Coast's website to see the view

Click here to see the room I reserved for the dinner

The room overlooks the water and perfectly fits our wedding party of 15. It'll be great!

I also booked salon appointments for Andi's mom, Janie, and sister, Lindsay. I was hoping for a "all girls get together" but my sister and mom don't want to get their hair done...so I'm not sure that'll happen as I envision. Maybe they can come and watch? We'll see...

I also called Ivy Spa today to book mani / pedi appointments for the morning of the wedding. I'm a little nervous to get a manicure the day of the wedding in case it looks crappy (they always glob on the nail polish which I don't particularly prefer). But I figure a nice polishing of cuticles and moisturizing can't hurt. Lindsay and Janie are in for spa appointments too, but I don't think my sister and mom will be. So, I'm not going to tell them ... just book it and take them anyway :) My wedding day, right?

I just received my bridal shower dresses in the mail today, so I'll try them on tonight and post pics later for you all to see....

Dreaming of the Future

Andi's still traveling for work this week, so I spent the evening with his mom and dad. First, we went to Let's Dish to for our monthly make & take meal night. Afterwards, we went to dinner and than back to their house to check out Jim's ever-expanding backyard garden. New this summer - a row of asparagus plants which join the already growing brocolli, rubarb, beans, sprouts and spinach.

For Father's Day, Janie gave Jim a pear tree for the backyard. He was proudly showing off his new tree and said the sweetest thing. "Heather, someday I just imagine my little grandkids calling me up to say 'Grandpa, can I come over to help you pick pears from the tree?" Hearing him say that melted my heart! Jim - I'm looking forward to that moment too.

Here Comes the Bride ...

It's all coming together! Dress, shoes ... now wedding bouquet. I'm thinking long-stemmed Calla lillies, tied with a white ribbon. Not sure I need something THIS big, but we'll see what the florist has to say ...Today, I began working on a wedding scrapbook for our photos. I'm thinking of doing one for our ceremony / dinner and another one for the Thailand honeymoon. Too many pictures to capture I'm sure.

Thought I'd share a few of the pages with you. (They're obviously blank for now) so I think they'll come to life once I add our wedding photos.

Enjoy!

Wedding Dress Details

So, I did some more damage with my online purchasing this weekend ...
With only 50 days until the wedding, I decided I better get organized and accessorize the rest of my wedding attire. I need shoes, some sort of hair piece (a sparkly head band maybe) and jewerly.

Here are the shoes I picked out for my dress. A little edgy I realize, but remember "casual wedding" ... I think I can get away with green shoes. :)

Can you visualize the sandels with my wedding dress ?
What do you think?

LOCATION UPDATE
Andi and I have also decided on a new wedding location. Originally, we planned to have the ceremony on a boat on Lake Minnetonka. But, we've recently been thinking about changing to the Noerenberg Gardens on Lake Minnetonka.
I love the pillars in this garden - what a perfect place for a wedding ceremony. Or, in case it rains, there's a boat house that covered and overlooks the lake. Crossing our fingers, they'll have a spot available for July 31! I'll keep you posted....

Get Free Shipping!

This is such a good find, I just have to share....

Did you know you can Google "free online shipping codes" and get free shipping from almost any online store? Amazing, I know! The internet never ceases to amaze me.

So, tonight I ordered a few dresses from J Crew and Anne Taylor Loft for my bridal showers this summer. I have three showers coming up this month and next, one thrown by my aunt Cheri (for my family), one thrown by my best friend (for all my girlfriends) and one by Andi's aunts / cousins (for his side of the family). I am sooooo excited!

Cute dresses. Good deals. Who could ask for more?

2 Months

It's exactly two months until the wedding!

Perhaps it's because I have little wedding planning to do before the big day (the joy of planning a small wedding!) but I feel like the time is draaaaging on and on. Without wishing my summer away, can July 31 please hurry it up already?!?

Andi and I had our last marriage class tonight. It was, by far, the best session we've experienced to date. Before each class, we prepare by completing homework Pastor has assigned to us. This time, we were asked to review Ephesians Chapter 5 verses 21 - 33 where the Bible discusses the roles of a husband and wife.

I've never felt so in love and been so excited to be married as I did while we discussed this passage with Pastor today. He explained the true meaning of this verse and how important of a role being a husband and wife is to one another. Wives voluntarily submit to your husbands; husbands serve your wives and give everything to ensure they're safe and provided for. What a wonderful experience we're about to embark on! How awesome is it to have someone's unconditional love and support?

Spending time together each week to reflect on our relationship, and our relationship with God, has truly been a highlight the last few weeks (minus a few akward "sex" talks). This fall, we plan to join a couple's bible study so we can further devote this time to one another.

The future holds some good things for the new Mr. and Mrs.
Last week, a good friend of mine had her first baby. Listening to her experience being a first-time mom makes me so excited for the many chapters ahead we'll have. Here's to soaking up every single one of them!
